For the best cosmetic result, sometimes Breast Enhancement requires both enlargement and lifting. When performed together, the procedure is known as a Mastopexy Augmentation. Mastopexy Augmentation is a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure that combines Breast Augmentation with a Breast Lift. Each procedure offers unique opportunities for improvement. The results of combining Breast Augmentation and an Inverted-T Breast Lift can be seen above.
Breast Augmentation adds volume and improves cleavage. Breast Implants are positioned to provide upper pole volume and to reduce the gap between the breasts. Without Breast Implants, the breasts would remain flat and the cleavage seen above would be absent.
The Breast Lift portion of the surgery improves asymmetry, removes excess skin, reduces the areolae, corrects excess sagging and elevates the position of the nipples on the breast mounds. The areolae are also reduced to provide aesthetic balance. Without the lift, the breast skin and nipples would hang off the lower poles of the breasts. In this case, it takes the combination of Mastopexy Augmentation to get the best result.
Mastopexy Augmentation with Nipple Reduction

In the above case, my patient was looking to replace breast volume lost after pregnancy. Additionally, she wanted to reduce the projection of her nipples. The before and after pictures show the restoration of volume, elevation of the nipple areolar complex and reduction of nipple projection. Click on the censored picture to see the nipples.
Breast Augmentation with Breast Lift

In this case, the goal was enlargement and rejuvenation. Breast Implants added the volume she desired. A Periareolar Breast Lift elevated the nipple to just above the point of maximum projection and reduced the diameter of her areolae. Nipple projection was also reduced. The results are enlarged, rejuvenated breasts and a patient happy to have her youthful breasts back.
