The Tummy Tuck is the foundation of most abdominal rejuvenation. It is the only procedure which reliably corrects the three main problems associated with a stretched out belly:
- Loose skin
- Lax muscles
- Extra fat
Today’s Abdominoplasty Video Presentation reveals the details of the procedure and illustrates actual results with Tummy Tuck Before and After Photos. We also go beyond the Tummy Tuck with combination procedures such as Abdominoplasty with Liposuction and Brazilian Buttocks Lift, and Tummy Tuck with Thigh Lift, for post-bariatric plastic surgery patients.
The patient above was unhappy with the appearance of her hanging belly and her deflated buttocks. A combination of Tummy Tuck and Liposuction would have been offered in the past to increase the depth of the curve of her lower back to enhance buttock projection (Liposculpting). Today, the fat removed during a tummy tuck and liposuction can be repurposed for further buttock enhancement as seen above. Fat grafting to the buttocks, also known as a Brazilian Buttocks Lift (BBL), added the additional volume and curves this patient wanted.
Tummy Tuck Video Presentation
Abdominoplasty is one of the most common Cosmetic Plastic Surgery procedures I performed. In this video segment from KRON 4’s Body Beautiful, I discuss how the Tummy Tuck is performed. Also included is the combination of Tummy Tuck and Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and numerous Abdominoplasty Before and After Pictures.
Tummy Tuck and Liposuction
Sometimes the belly looks flabby after having children, even when moms are in good shape. The next patient was dissatisfied with the appearance of her tummy. The skin was loose and redundant both above and below the belly button (umbilicus). The umbilicus was hidden and looked like a horizontal line, rather than a vertically oriented, youthful belly button. The abdominal muscles were strong, but they bulged forward, giving the appearance of perpetual pregnancy. Additionally, fat filled the waist and folded at the hips giving her what she called the “mom belly.”
Tummy Tuck and Liposuction was used to tighten the belly and liposculpt the torso. The combination revealed her underlying tight core, creating a thin waist and smooth, firm abdominal wall. The umbilicus can now be seen in its more youthful vertical orientation with minimal hooding. The patient has lowered her underwear so that you can see the location and nature of the scar. In a bikini, the scar is easily covered.
Tummy Tuck and Thigh Lift
For patients who have lost massive amounts of weight, loose skin is a big problem and a constant reminder of their previous selves. Not only does it disguise all the hard work, it’s burdensome, and gets in the way. Loose skin blocks bending over, interferes with how clothes fit and can bounce painfully with physical activity. Moreover, patients who have worked hard to get healthy want to look healthy, too.
There are many Post-Bariatric Plastic Surgery procedures. If a number of procedures are needed, they are often grouped and staged. For example, loose arm skin and deflated breasts can be addressed together with an Arm Lift and Breast Enhancement. In this case, the lower torso is addressed with a Tummy Tuck and Thigh Lift combination.
The patient above had Abdominoplasty with Thigh Lift (Thighplasty). The two procedures are complementary. The Tummy Tuck can lift the anterior and lateral thigh, while the Thigh Lift tightens the medial and posterior thigh. The result is shown above. The abdomen and thighs are flat, smooth, tight and fit better in clothing and most importantly match how this patient feels after massive weight loss.
